Accelerated Resolution Therapy has been around longer than people think, and is still relatively new. For many, it sounds too good to be true - until you try it. A.R.T. was developed in 2008 by licensed marriage and family therapist Laney Rosenzweig. Rosenzweig created a set of standardized protocols for this therapy, based on various established therapeutic frameworks. Without needing many sessions, accelerated resolution therapy can significantly reduce the symptoms of trauma-related issues. It has been used to successfully treat complex or single incident trauma, phobias, grief & loss, anxiety, anger, depression, substance use, and self-concept/personal resilience.

In 2015, Accelerated Resolution Therapy was recognized by two major organizations:
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) named ART an effective psychotherapy for posttraumatic stress (PTSD), personal resilience and depression.
The National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) officially recognized Accelerated Resolution Therapy as an evidence based practice.
